An Important Message About My New Book

First off, I want to thank everyone who has already bought a copy of my new book, The Turnaround: How to Build Life-Changing Confidence.

I’ve received some very encouraging emails from readers and the first reviews are already trickling in on Amazon—I can’t thank you all enough for your kind words and continued support!

Last week, The Turnaround shot up to No. 1 in its Amazon categories and was briefly placed on back order.

I’m excited to announce that The Turnaround is now back in stock and available to ship RIGHT NOW at this link. If you haven’t had the chance to grab your copy yet, please do so here and let me know what you think of it.

To those who have already bought the book and those who are about to, I want to say, THANK YOU! I love what I do and I could not do it without your support!

I also want to take a moment to thank and acknowledge some of the many people who helped influence this book.

To write a book about how to build confidence, I spent months researching many outstanding books, interviews, and studies on the topic. Some of my favorite authors on the topic include Dr. David Schwartz, Dr. Maxwell Maltz, Dr. Bob Rotella, Dr. Shad Helmstetter, Dr. Martin Seligman, and Zig Ziglar—one of the greatest teachers there ever was on the power of self-image.

As always, my work is heavily influenced by the writings and teachings of great coaches and athletes. I want to specifically acknowledge the influential lessons and careers of legendary coaches Barry Switzer, Lou Holtz, Tony Dungy, Augie Garrido, Jimmy Johnson, Mike Krzyzewski, Tommy Lasorda, Vince Lombardi, Buck O’Neil, Pat Riley, Nick Saban, Bill Snyder, Steve Spurrier, Bob Stoops, Dabo Swinney, and John Wooden. Each of these coaches had (or still have) an extraordinary ability to build confidence in their teams.

A unique aspect of The Turnaround is that the story is primarily set in the world of college football during the 1980s. I did this because I wanted to show how the confidence-building lessons one learns from a positive leader can continue to shape your life for decades.

Because of this unique setting, it was important for me to spend time interviewing two Hall of Fame coaches who won National Championships during this era and had reputations for building highly-confident teams.

I want to thank Barry Switzer and Lou Holtz for taking the time to personally visit with me about the methods they used to generate confidence in their players. Both of these coaches went above and beyond to answer my questions and I can’t thank them enough for the time and wisdom they shared with me.

In particular, I want to acknowledge a few specific concepts featured in The Turnaround.

Coach Switzer’s “three aspects of the game” along with his firm belief that treating people right and having fun were two components directly tied to achieving success and building confidence had a big influence on the direction of this book.

Coach Holtz’s “three rules” for building confidence and the “Sunday night meetings” he implemented in the 1980s—meetings focused solely on teaching self-improvement strategies to his players—were also powerful confidence-building techniques featured in The Turnaround.

It was a true honor to spend time with both coaches and I learned a lot about the power of confidence from these two football legends. I can’t thank them enough!

Again, thank you, my readers, for your support. If you haven’t yet grabbed your copy of The Turnaround, it is available here.
